BREAKFAST CASSEROLE


 
10 slices of bread, cut in 1 inch cubes
2 c. grated Cheddar cheese
1/4 c. melted butter
6 eggs
8 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
2 c. milk
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. each salt and pepper
 
Alternate layers of bread and cheese in a 2 quart casserole dish. Pour melted butter over top. Mix other ingredients and pour over bread layers. Cover with tin foil and refrigerate overnight. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes, covered. Uncover and bake for 20 to 30 minutes longer. Great as a Christmas make-ahead breakfast.
