BREAKFAST EGG CASSEROLE


 
8 slices white bread, buttered
1/2 lb. grated Cheddar cheese, mild
8 eggs
4 c. milk
1/4 tsp. dry mustard
1 tsp. salt
Pepper to taste
1 lb. sausage, cooked and drained
1 tbsp. minced onion
1 tbsp. minced green pepper
1 tbsp. chopped pimento
1/4 tsp. sweet basil
1/4 tsp. dry Italian seasoning
 
Cut the bread in small squares and put in bottom of a 9 x 13 inch buttered pan. Spread the cheese over the bread. Beat eggs, milk, mustard, salt and pepper. Add cooked sausage, onion and other seasonings to egg mixture and pour over the other mixture in pan. Refrigerate overnight. Then bake 1 hour at 350 degrees.
