DEEP DISH PIZZA


 
1 lb. hamburger
1 (16 oz.) can stewed tomatoes, drained
1 tbsp. instant minced onion
1 tsp. oregano leaves
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/8 tsp. garlic powder
1 green pepper, cut into thin strips
1 can (4 oz.) mushroom pieces
1 c. Mozzarella cheese, shredded
 
DOUGH:
1 pkg. active dry yeast
1 c. warm water
1 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. vegetable oil
2 1/2 c. flour
 
Dissolve yeast in warm water. Stir in remaining dough ingredients. Beat vigorously 20 strokes. Let rest 5 minutes. Brown the hamburger and drain. Add other ingredients. Press dough evenly on bottom and partly up the sides of a 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan. Top with the sauce, meat mixture and cheese. Bake at 425 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes.
