STUFFED FRENCH TOAST


 
1 lg. loaf bakery style bread, unsliced
1 apple, peeled and grated
1 pear, peeled and grated
1 banana, peeled and grated
2 tbsp. brown sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 c. chopped pecans
1 c. milk
1 egg
2 tbsp. flour
 
Mix together brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and chopped pecans; then add to fruit and mix well. Mix milk, egg, and flour with mixer; beat well. Slice bread in 1 1/2 inch thick slices. Then slice middle of bread to form a "pocket".Brush insides with butter; stuff with 1/3 cup fruit/spice mixture. Dip in milk batter to coat. Cook on grill on low heat approximately 7 minutes each side.
